RPA has supported the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KEMI) by preparing a two-phase impact assessment which looked into the implications of a restriction on the use of medium-chained chlorinated paraffins (MCCP) in electrical and electronic equipment under Article 6(1) of the RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU). RPA’s report, completed in 2016, forms the basis of a consultation exercise which KEMI has recently initiated and which invites stakeholders to comment on RPA’s findings.

On 24 May 2017, the European Commission published their summary decision on Rimex Metals (UK) Ltd’s Application for the Authorisation of chromium trioxide as an oxidising and hardening agent in the manufacture of coloured stainless steel.

An update to Annex XIV of REACH (the Authorisation list) has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
